Business Development Engineer
Emerson Process Management, the worldwide leader in Automation Technologies for the Process Industry continues to invest in its Belgian organisation located in Diegem to meet its growth targets. These growth targets are inspired by the PlantWeb strategy, a total solution approach that is significantly changing the way production plants are operated. To support these growth targets, Emerson Process Management is looking for a (m/f) Sales Business Development Engineer "DCS Process Control Solutions".
The Sales Business Development Engineer:
Commercially develops the assigned territory or accounts.
Acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of Emerson Process Management DCS offering (DeltaV).
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key buying influencers.
Understand the assigned BeLux territory.
Hunts for new opportunities within assigned accounts (cross selling at existing Emerson accounts, new business at well targeted prospects).
Identify customer requirements and request factory or specialty support.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of competitive product strengths and weaknesses.
Manages the assigned accounts in accordance with branch priorities and business potential.
Develop call plans consistent with territory and/or account potentials.
Manage sales time in accordance with branch priorities.
Identify new product opportunities and commitments to cognizant groups.
Forecast territory and/or account order bookings and business potential.
Communicates with other Emerson Process Management personnel on an ongoing basis.
Co-ordinate inter and intra division business pursuit activities.
Provide status or act as coordinator on major projects.
Provide inputs or reports as required.
Keep management informed of competitive or business trend or development within the assigned accounts or territories.
Inform responsible Emerson Process Management personnel of product/service problems and requirements.
Maintain positive Emerson Process Management image with customers and business associates.
Participate in local trade shows.
Act in accordance with standard industry business practices.
Manages his accounts portfolio (farming)
Exercises sound business judgment in the area of business related expenses.
Become familiar with trade compliance rules and regulations
Establishes and maintains a good rapport and sound business relationships with existing and new customers and projects a favorable image of Emerson Process Management as a reputable member of the business community to establish the basis for favorable consideration for future business.
Communicates promptly through channels to appropriate personnel relevant information from the assigned territory or accounts regarding competitive patterns, future potential for new products or modifications of existing products.
Actively participates in professional societies, attends seminars, recommends participation in and attends trade shows, etc., and maintains a self development program necessary to supplement or promote sales efforts.
Works willingly and communicates effectively with all appropriate Emerson Process Management personnel to achieve the sales and marketing objectives of the assigned accounts as well as the overall corporate goals and objectives.
Fluent in Dutch, French and English language.
Engineering degree with technical direction (Bachelor, Master).
Sound understanding and knowledge of the Process Control automation market
Prior experience as sales or Project Manager in process control related equipment (Scada/PLC, DCS, MES, Batch, Failsafe PLC, ....)
Good communication & presentation skills and initiative.
Strong drive and ability to selfmotivation.
Must be able to negotiate and finalize within assigned Delegations of Authority - come up with the best performance/price contracts for Emerson Process Management and the customer.
Must be able to define budgets and analyze market situations with respect to expected growth and income for Emerson Process Management.
Acquires and maintains an overall knowledge of all Emerson Process Management offering.
